Raiders LB Vontaze Burfict: ‘I’m not a dirty player’

The Raiders have a new linebacker on the team. On Tuesday, the team announced that they have signed the former Bengals’ linebacker to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million with incentives.

After the signing was announced, Burfict met with the Raiders media on a conference call. During that call, he was asked about his physical nature and whether or not he considers himself a dirty player. Here is his quote via Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

According to Spotrac, Burfict has racked up more than $4 million in fines throughout his career for dirty play. He has also been suspended for six games due to illegal hits and four games for a PED suspension.

While Burfict may believe he’s not a dirty player, his resume speaks for himself. He’s going to need to clean up his antics in Oakland to help shed his reputation.
