Week six of the NFL season is done, which means we are officially more than a third of the way through the season.
Though the Raiders didn’t play this past weekend, several other teams had a chance to improve their standing and move closer to playoff contention than draft position.
As it stands now, only one team in the league has a better shot at the number one overall pick than the 1-4 Raiders. That would be the 1-5 Panthers.

The only other teams in the NFL right now with just one win are the 1-4 Lions and the 1-3-1 Texans who the Raiders are set to face this Sunday in Las Vegas.
The Raiders edge out the Lions for the second overall pick due to strength of schedule. The Lions have a .633 SoS and the Raiders sit at .517.
Certainly the Raiders SoS won’t go up this week facing the Texans, but that shouldn’t be the concern. Beating the hapless Texans is a must if the Raiders are to continue to believe they are a better team than their record suggests.
