Raiders hosting DEs Josh Allen and Clelin Ferrell on Tuesday

The Oakland Raiders continue to search for pass-rush help and the team is doing their due diligence on all of the top players in the 2019 NFL Draft.

On Tuesday, the team will host edge rushers Josh Allen and Clelin Ferrell, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. Both are expected to be first-round picks, but each will be Raiders’ targets in different spots of Round 1.

Allen is arguably the top pass-rusher in the class. He was the 2018 SEC Defensive Player of the Year as he recorded 17 sacks. However, he has been commonly mocked to the New York Jets at No. 3 and it seems unlikely that he will fall to the Raiders. Still, Oakland is wise to meet with Allen in case he was to slip to them.

Ferrell, on the other hand, is a potential target for the Raiders with either pick No. 24 or pick No. 27. Ferrell was also the top defender in his conference, winning the ACC Defensive Player of the Year.

Ferell isn’t as explosive or as “bendy” as Allen, but he has proven to be productive at one of the biggest schools in college football. During his three-year career at Clemson, he totaled 50.5 tackles for a loss and 27 sacks. Ferrell might not be flashy, but he gets the job done from the edge.

Both Allen and Ferrell are likely to be coveted by Oakland in the first round. Don’t be surprised if at least one of these two players winds up wearing the Silver and Black in 2019.
