Raiders hire former Patriots scout DuJuan Daniels as senior executive

After Mike Mayock sent his scouts home a week before the draft, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that there would be a significant amount of turnover with his staff. Once the draft ended, Mayock let go of most of Reggie McKenzie’s former scouts, including his brother, Raleigh McKenzie.

Since then, Mayock has made some wonderful signings to bolster his scouting department. His latest move might be his best.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Raiders have hired former New England Patriots national scout DuJuan Daniels to a new senior executive position. He is expected to begin his job this week.

Last week, it was announced that Daniels left the Patriots in order to find other jobs outside the organization. According to ESPN’s Field Yates, many around the league believe he is a candidate to become a general manager in the near future.

Mayock is trying to bring in as many bright minds into the front office as he can. He clearly isn’t afraid of new ideas and with his connections around the league, expect Oakland to continue to court some of the best scouts in football.
