Raiders head into Monday night as AFC’s only remaining undefeated team

Sunday started with four undefeated teams in the NFL. Two of which are in the AFC. Both of which are in the AFC West. It ended with just one — the Raiders. Though, to be fair, they haven’t played yet. They will have the chance to remain undefeated (4-0) on Monday Night Football against the division rival Chargers.

The Broncos were the other undefeated team and they were knocked from those ranks with a decisive 23-7 loss to the Ravens.

It was the Broncos who struck first with a touchdown pass from Teddy Bridgewater to tight end Noah Fant in the second quarter. From there, it was all Ravens.

The very next drive, the Ravens tied the game at 7-7. The Broncos punted on seven consecutive drives without even getting into Baltimore territory on any of those drives.

Three NFC teams came into the day undefeated, and one remains — the Arizona Cardinals.

Should the Raiders lose, they would not only drop from the ranks of the undefeated but drop out of first place in the AFC West. That title would then belong to the Chargers. So, Monday night is for the division lead. For the Raiders it’s for the conference lead.
