The Raiders officially lost their special teams coach and interim coach in Rich Bisaccia on Monday as he was hired by the Green Bay Packers. That was expected as Bisaccia was initially hired by Jon Gruden back in 2018.
So with Bisaccia out of the picture, the Raiders are now in the process of filling his job. The first potential candidate that has been linked to the job is Joe Judge, who was recently fired by the New York Giants.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Raiders have “shown interest” in Judge for that role, but they have not yet interviewed him. Judge was the head coach of the Giants from 2020-to 2021, but he has plenty of ties to the New England Patriots and Josh McDaniels.

From 2012 to 2019, Judge worked with the special teams unit in New England and was eventually named the coordinator in 2015. Like McDaniels, he is a young coach (40) who might be better off staying in a special teams role for the remainder of his career.
Judge also worked under McDaniels in 2019 as he was the team’s wide receiver coach, as well. It was his only year working on offense, but it is important to note that McDaniels and Judge have worked together closely before.
