A huge cycling festival is set to go ahead in the summer.
Hundreds of cyclists were set to descend on Gatehouse in October for the first ever Raiders Gravel Galloway biking challenge.
But the coronavirus pandemic led to organisers Golazo pulling the plug.
However, Golazo - which organises events such as the Paris and Berlin Marathons – and Rhonehouse-based Galloway Cycling Holidays are now pushing on with their plans, with the festival scheduled for August 25 to 28.
Hundreds of teams are expected, with the hope being for the festival to develop into the world’s top gravel cycling event over the next few years.
The festival will kick off with a social, stargazing ride on the first night before three gruelling stages totalling more than 220km in the Galloway Forest Park over the following three days.
There will also be an event village in Gatehouse as well as an expo, with talks, presentations and entertainment each night.
Registration for the Raiders Gravel is now open and places can be booked at www.raidersgravel.com
