Raiders FS Erik Harris has career day on Thursday Night Football

It’s been quite the journey for safety Erik Harris. He started his career in the CFL, playing for the Hamilton-Tiger Cats from 2013 to 2015. He eventually made his way to the NFL, signing with the Saints in 2016. But shortly into his career, he tore his ACL and was released by the Saints during the following offseason.

Harris signed with the Raiders in 2017 and has moved his way up the depth chart. Once rookie Johnathan Abram was placed on the injured reserve list, Harris got a chance to start for the Raiders, along with Karl Joseph.

On Thursday Night Football, Harris had a career day, intercepting two passes and taking one to the house in the first half. He actually had another interception that was called back due to an offsides call, which would eventually lead to a Chargers’ touchdown.

Harris finished the game with three pass deflections, along with two tackles as he was the team’s “peak performer” in Week 10:

With Lamarcus Joyner and Karl Joseph banged up, expect Harris to continue to play a ton of snaps going forward for the Raiders. His performance on Thursday night was the difference in the Raiders going 5-4, compared to 4-5.
