Raiders finish No. 7 in all-time quarterback ranking

The Raiders have had a rich history of producing elite quarterbacks. From Ken Stabler to Jim Plunkett and Rich Gannon, Oakland continues to find high-caliber quarterbacks at every turn.

But how well does their history of elite quarterback play match up with the rest of the NFL? In a recent article by Ali Bhanpuri on NFL.com, the Raiders finished No.7 all-time in franchise quarterback rankings. Take a look at Bhanpuri’s thoughts on their rich history:

This group’s got rings, MVPs, Pro Bowls and a whole lot of Ws. Although their best isn’t quite at the same level as a bunch of other teams, the overall depth and quality of the Raiders‘ franchise QBs has been remarkable and covers 35 years. If Derek Carr returns to his 2016 form with all the new toys at his disposal, this spot could end up looking foolishly low a couple of years down the road.

As Bhanpuri mentioned, the Raiders could move up significantly on this list if Carr can get this team back to the playoffs sooner rather than later. Oakland clearly has the talent to make a run this year, and they have the right leader in place at quarterback to take them where they want to go. Look for Carr to have a big year in 2019 and hopefully move the Raiders’ up on this list by this time next year.
