While the Raiders have recently solved their punting competition with the release of Johnny Townsend, another camp battle is just starting to pick up.
On Tuesday, the Raiders have announced that veteran fullback Keith Smith has passed his physical and will practice today. Smith was signed last season by the Raiders and played in all 16 games with the team.
While Smith is the incumbent, he needs to string together several solid practices in order to beat out fullback Alec Ingold. Look for these two to compete for their job over the next three weeks with the winner likely being the player who can help the most on special teams.
