Raiders fall to juggernaut Chiefs in Week 2, 28-10

After the first quarter, it appeared the Raiders had a chance to upset the Kansas City Chiefs at home. Oakland was leading 10-0 and had all the momentum. Then, the MVP showed up. In the second quarter alone, Mahomes threw for 278 yards and four touchdowns and essentially ended any hopes of the Raiders going to 2-0.

For Oakland, they didn’t play a terrible game, but they just faced a much better performance. However, penalties continue to be a problem for this Raiders’ team.

Time and time again, the Raiders had costly penalties that gave the Chiefs’ first downs or prevented Oakland from moving the chains. That is something that will need to be cleaned up before the team’s Week 3 contest against the Vikings.

Leading Passer: QB Derek Carr – 198 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs

Leading Rusher: RB Josh Jacobs – 12 carries for 99 yards

Leading Receiver: TE Darren Waller – 6 receptions for 63 yards

Play of the Game: RB Josh Jacobs big run for 50 yards.

Injury Report:

  • WR/KR/PR Dwayne Harris left the game due to a lower leg injury. He did return to the contest before halftime.
  • LB Vontaze Burfict injured his ankle in the third quarter of Sunday’s contest. Burfict returned to the game on the next series.
