Raiders don’t have buyer’s remorse after signing RT Trent Brown

When the Raiders made Trent Brown the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history, there were some who wondered if Oakland overpaid for the veteran tackle. But through a week of training camp, Brown is proving to be everything the Raiders could have ever wanted.

In a recent article by Vic Tafur of The Athletic, he wrote about how dominant Brown has been in every single practice. Take a look at what Tafur had to say about the 26-year old right tackle:

The 6-foot-9, 385-pound (Trent) Brown has been a standout, and we’re not talking about how he makes 335-pound guard Gabe Jackson look small next to him. Brown has destroyed defensive linemen in 1-on-1 drills and scrimmages.

The Raiders admittedly blew away the market to make sure they got Brown to sign, and they have no buyer’s remorse.

While Brown has never made a Pro Bowl in his career, he is clearly one of the better tackles in the game. Better yet, he’s an ascending player whose best football is still ahead of him. While it’s still early, the Raiders have been pleasantly surprised with their free-agent acquisition. Brown is proving to be one of the best players on the Raiders’ roster already.
