No question Maxx Crosby is a big boy. He stands at 6-5, 270 pounds. Despite attending not attending a power conference school for college, he wasn’t at Eastern Michigan of the Mid-American Conference because he was a late-bloomer either. In fact, Maxx’s bloom happened in the womb — a rhyme the rapping Crosby would no doubt appreciate.
Crosby’s first name is indicative of just how big he was at birth. He weighed in at 11 pounds, 9 ounces at birth. His mom had already decided on a name for him. He was to be Max. And with his XXL birth size, she made him a Maxx.
He was so big, in fact, that doctors had to break his clavicle just to get him out. Ouch and ouch.
Definitely much respect for his mom. Though having his bones broken is a rough way to enter the world.
Crosby played at 240 pounds at Eastern Michigan. He was 255 pounds during the draft process last year and by the end of last season he had put on 20 pounds to reach 275.
This offseason, he has been training in Los Angeles and has come down to around 270 pounds. So, he’s leaner while turning some of his weight into muscle mass. He hopes he can build upon his ten-sack rookie season. Specifically, he has his sights set on getting his first sack on Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. He basically guaranteed it.
