Raiders DE Clelin Ferrell has career-day versus Lions in Week 9

If you were to just look at the box score, it would appear that No. 4 overall pick Clelin Ferrell was non-existent once again on Sunday. He finished the game with four tackles, along with no sacks or quarterback hits. However, he actually had one of the best games of his short career versus the Lions.

According to Pro Football Focus, Ferrell finished the game with four quarterback hurries, the most of his career. It was also the highest-graded game in his career as he helped the Raiders get the much-needed win. Here is what the site had to say about the former Clemson defensive end:

Ferrell ended his Week 9 game against the Detroit Lions with a career-high overall grade of 63.4, the first time in his young career that he’s earned a grade above 60.0. He recorded a single-game-best four quarterback pressures — all them being hurries — and further added three defensive stops against the run. He’s had a rough start to his NFL career, but Ferrell’s Week 9 outing is assuredly a step in the right direction.

If Ferrell can continue to play at this level, that would be a massive step forward for him and the Oakland Raiders. The final eight games of the season are going to be huge for Ferrell as he will likely see a ton of snaps and the Raiders need him to produce. Keep an eye on Ferrell over the final two months to see how he progresses.
