Raiders currently own the No. 16 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft

It’s been quite the month for the Las Vegas Raiders. Just a few short weeks ago, the Raiders were sitting at 6-3 and appeared to be a lock to make the playoffs. Now, sitting at 7-8, the team needs a win in Denver to avoid a losing season for the fourth year in a row. They have been officially eliminated from the playoffs and now the question is where will they draft in the first round.

According to Tankathon, the Raiders currently own the No. 16 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. It appears the lowest they could pick this year would be at No. 17, but they could slide way up the order if teams like the 49ers, Cowboys, and Patriots win in Week 17.

With the Raiders needing to dramatically improve their defense this offseason, they could use as many high valued picks as possible. But given that they already have seven wins, they aren’t going to pick inside the top-12 as they have in each of the last two years.

Over the next several months, we will preview 100s of players that could potentially be picked by the team in next April’s draft. But as of now, keep an eye on the College Football Playoffs this weekend as we know that Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden love to select players from big programs.
