Raiders coach Jon Gruden mocks Club Dub following win vs. Bears

One of the best new traditions following every Chicago Bears win has been Club Dub, the dance party that shows up in the team’s locker room as they celebrate a victory.

But after three straight trips to Club Dub following their wins against the Denver Broncos, Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings, respectively, Club Dub was closed when the team lost to the Oakland Raiders 24-21. Raiders coach Jon Gruden  wanted his team to know that news, as well.

Speaking to his team following the win, Gruden mocked the Club Dub celebration briefly before giving his postgame speech.

“I don’t have a disco, but let’s all start dancing,” he said, as he then pretends to dance with his team as they hoot and holler in the background. “I’ll say this, I’m 56 years old, that’s the most fun I’ve ever had tonight.”

Gruden is an old-school coach. He’s a man who doesn’t necessarily care for the “rah rah” approach so it’s not surprising to see him take a shot across the bow at the Bears, especially considering they’re the team he’s had to hear about for 13 months following the fallout of the Khalil Mack trade.

Bears fans may not like hearing Gruden mock the team’s creation, but they should be back to Club Dub soon enough following their bye week as they prepare to take on the 4-1 New Orleans Saints on Oct. 20.
