Raiders climb up Pro Football Focus power rankings after Week 4

Considering the circumstances, the Oakland Raiders had one of the most impressive victories of Week 4. They were able to beat a good Indianapolis Colts’ team on the road to keep them afloat in the AFC. That win very well could have saved their season.

Due to their victory, the Raiders have climbed up numerous power ranking lists, including a recent one by Pro Football Focus. After Week 4, the team is now sitting at No. 25, just behind the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills. Take a look at what the site had to say about the Raiders from an analytical perspective:

The Raiders claimed their second victory of the season on the road in Indianapolis. Derek Carr didn’t light up the field (5.6 yards per dropback), but he avoided mistakes, with zero turnovers and only one sack on the day. If the Raiders look to improve on their 2-2 record, they’ll need better production out of the pass defense, which currently ranks 29th by opponent EPA per dropback.

This week’s contest against the Bears will be a monster test for these young Oakland Raiders. If the team can somehow pull off a victory against the best defense in the NFL, the Raiders should shoot up power ranking lists such as this one. With Chicago being forced to play a backup quarterback in London, a win to go to 3-2 certainly is on the table.
