We have our first extension of the offseason for the Raiders. They have brought back defensive lineman Kendal Vickers with an Exclusive Rights Free Agent tender.
Vickers made the team out of camp last year and appeared in 15 games with two starts. In that time, he put up two sacks, three QB hits, and 10 combined tackles with three for a loss.
The 25-year-old provided valuable depth at both defensive tackle and defensive end last season. Locking him up as an ERFA was an easy move to make. He will make $780K this season, which is the standard tender rate for a player with one year of NFL experience and puts him just inside the current Top 51 for salary cap purposes.
The 6-3, 290-pound defensive lineman entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee in 2018, signing with the Steelers. He didn’t make the squad and spent some time on the Titans’ practice squad. He was on the roster of the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL in 2019 before catching on with the Raiders last season.
Vickers is one of two ERFA’s for the Raiders. The other is safety Dallin Leavitt.
