Raiders break into Scots home and steal thousands of pounds of booze

Thieves have broken into a Scots home and stolen thousands of pounds of booze.

The raid happened around Prince Street in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire between 11pm on Tuesday and 6pm on Wednesday.

Police say that the criminals broke in and caused damage to property before making off with 'a large quantity' of alcohol worth 'a four figure sum'.

Cops have now launched an appeal for anyone with information into the booze heist to come forward.

PC Campbell from the Peterhead CPT said, "Anyone with information, particularly CCTV or dash-cam footage within the Prince Street area of Peterhead at the time is urged to contact Police Scotland.

"I must remind all property owners to remain vigilant, secure their properties and not to leave high value items on open display.

"We will continue to explore all lines of enquiry."

Police can be contacted by phone on 101, via the Police Scotland website or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
