Raiders’ Antonio Brown can’t resist Friday night lights, attends high school football game

Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown loves football and the spotlight, and he proved it once again Friday night in Concord, Calif.

De La Salle High School took on top-rated St. Thomas Aquinas of Florida in a mega-matchup of football powerhouses. The road team won, in a game televised by ESPN, and Antonio Brown was there.

Here he is in the crowd, as a shocked student body looks on.

As displayed in the above photo from De La Salle’s Twitter account, Brown immersed himself in the high school experience as much as he could, enjoying the unique vibe of Friday night youth football.

Here’s some of what the ESPN cameras caught, courtesy of KPIX.

Here he is once again. Notice the boom microphone behind him. Expect more detail of Brown’s night on one of the two remaining episodes of HBO’s Hard Knocks.

While it’s unusual for an NFL player to attend a high school football game, this was entirely in character for Brown. The game was as big as it gets for a prep matchup, and it was in Brown’s new backyard, the Bay Area. Of course, he couldn’t resist.

While his offseason has been exciting, entertaining and controversial, the real show from Brown — his supreme skill on the field — hasn’t yet started. The Raiders are looking forward to those theatrics, as they attempt to turn the franchise around under coach Jon Gruden.
