Raiders announce three more new free agent additions

The roster is steadily filling out now. A day after the team announced the signing of four undrafted free agents, they officially add three more players, two veterans and one more undrafted rookie.

Tackle Sam Young was reported as joining the team on Tuesday. Wednesday they officially brought back linebacker Justin Philips and added undrafted free agent Kamaal Seymour.

Phillips spent appeared in four games for the Raiders last season, mostly on special teams where he registered three stops. The 6-0, 224-pounder originally signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2019 before signing to the Raiders’ practice squad ahead of Week 1.

He spent his college years at Oklahoma State (2014-18), playing four seasons and appearing in 42 contests, compiling 221 tackles (146), including 23 for loss, 6.5 sacks, three INTs including two returned for TD’s, six passes breakups, and six forced fumbles. As a senior in 2018 he was named team MVP honors, while also garnering All-Big 12 recognition after posting 98 tackles, the sixth-most in the Big 12 that season.

Seymour played four years at Rutgers (2016-19), playing in 46 career contests with 41 starts all at right tackle. As a senior in 2019, he started in all 12 contests, winning the David Bender Trophy award as the team’s premier offensive lineman.

These additions bring the roster to 88 players which means they are still able to add two more players which you can expect in short order.
