Raiders announce signing of WR J.J. Nelson

The Oakland Raiders aren’t done adding to their wide receiver corps. On Friday, the team announced that they have signed veteran receiver J.J. Nelson to a new deal.

Nelson has played in 56 career games, catching 81 passes for 1,439 yards and 10 touchdowns. He brings an element of speed to the offense as he has averaged a career 17.8 yards per reception.

In 2018, Nelson caught just seven passes for 64 yards as he was phased out of the offense. He has been known to have shakey hands, but his speed is undeniable. Nelson figures to be the team’s No.3 or No.4 receiver and will likely be used primarily down the field.
