Raiders announce re-signing of RB Jalen Richard

The Oakland Raiders have announced that they have re-signed running back Jalen Richard to a one-year deal. Richard was given the second-round tender during restricted free agency and he has signed his deal, allowing him to become a free agent again next offseason.

Richard (25) had a career year in Oakland, catching 68 passes for 607 yards, tied for the most receptions on the team. He also tallied 259 yards on the ground as he became one of the Raiders’ most reliable offensive weapons. He is expected to remain the team’s passing back with Isaiah Crowell handling most of the work on first down and in short yardage.

Richard is one of the most underrated players on the Raiders’ roster as he is vital to the team’s passing attack, especially on third down. With the additions of Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams, expect him to continue to dominate underneath in the passing game. Don’t be surprised if he surpasses 75 receptions in 2019.

Bringing back Richard was a no-brainer move by the team’s front office.
