Over the past four seasons, the most consistent player on the Raiders’ roster has been Rodney Hudson. He hasn’t missed a game since 2015, and graded out as the best player on the Raiders according to Pro Football Focus last season.
Coming into his ninth season in the NFL, and his contract expiring, this is a player the Raiders want to keep going into the transition to Las Vegas. During his press conference today, Gruden told the Media that contract extension talks have begun.
With Hudson entering the backside of his career, the negotiations and numbers for the final contract should be interesting. Hudson deserves to be one of the highest paid centers in the league and might get that contract in free agency. With Carr’s issues with interior pressure, the Raiders need Hudson more than he needs them.
