Raiders allowed full houses again in 2021

Canberra Raiders fans can now return to GIO Stadium in their droves with crowd restrictions lifted. (AAP)

Canberra will return to 100 per cent capacity for NRL games this season after the ACT Government lifted caps on crowds at GIO Stadium.

The Raiders were restricted to the smallest crowds in the competition for the majority of last season, with just 1500 fans let in until late August.

The Territory has not recorded a locally acquired case of COVID-19 in more than seven months.

Queensland also returned to uncapped crowds in stadiums late last year for State of Origin, but had reduced attendances for the Gabba cricket Test.

Grounds in NSW are also still not at 100 per cent capacity, after the outbreaks over the Christmas period forced a reduction in attendances.
