The same day we learned the Raiders made a play to sign the ageless Frank Gore (who chose to sign with the Jets instead), the Raiders have agreed to terms with former Broncos running back Devontae Booker, according to a source. The deal is pending a physical.
Booker was a fourth-round pick by the Broncos in the 2016 draft out of Utah. His biggest year in terms of total rushing yards was his rookie season in which he put up 612 yards and 4 touchdowns. But that was also his lowest yards per carry (3.5) season.
In 2018, he averaged 5.4 yards per carry on 34 carries for a rushing total of 183 yards and caught 38 passes for 275 yards.
The 5-11, 219-pounder will compete to be the complementary back along with Josh Jacobs in the Raiders backfield. He will join a running back room with rookie third-round pick Lynn Bowden Jr, William Stanback, and Jalen Richard.
Booker is a Sacramento California native having attended Grant Union High School.
