Raiders add QB Kyle Sloter on reserve/future contract

There’s a fourth arm on the Raiders roster. His name is Kyle Sloter. He joins Derek Carr, Marcus Mariota, and Nathan Peterman, at least for the time being.

The 6-foot-5, 218-pounder went undrafted out of Northern Colorado in 2017, originally signing with the Denver Broncos.

Though Sloter has never played in an NFL game, he’s had stints on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad (2017), Arizona Cardinals practice squad (2019), on the Detroit Lions roster (2019) and most recently with the Chicago Bears practice squad late last season.

Sloter played in 35 games with 13 starts first with Southern Mississippi (2012-14) and then at Northern Colorado (2015-16). He began his career as a wide receiver, while also lining up at times as a running back,

It wasn’t until his senior season in 2016 that Sloter transitioned to a full-time quarterback. That season he appeared in 11 games, completing 197-of-318 passes for 2,665 yards and a school-record 29 touchdown passes, while also adding three rushing touchdowns.
