A charity worker was caught with vile videos and photographs of girls as young as eight-years-old being sexually abused.
Rockas Strauka, 27, was arrested in a dawn raid by cops after they received intelligence about a device at his home accessing child pornography.
Officers seized a computer device from the Edinburgh home that Strauka shared with his mother.
An examination of the device found in his bedroom uncovered sick footage of girls aged eight to 15.
Strauka appeared at the city’s sheriff court on Thursday and admitted possessing child porn between January 10 and February 20 last year.
The court heard Strauka was a Lithuanian national who had lived in the UK for the past eight years.
At the time of his arrest, he was employed by a charity where he worked with autistic adults.
Fiscal depute Lynsay Magro said cops received information about an IP address linked to Strauka’s home in the Pilton area being used to access indecent images of children.
They obtained a search warrant and executed it at 6.50am on February 20 last year, the court heard.
Ms Magro said the officers took away a “system unit” from Strauka’s bedroom. She said a police analysis of the device found one video at the worst level - or Category A - six still images at Category A to C, and five video files at Categories A and B.
Sheriff Donald Corke deferred sentence until December for reports and placed Strauka on the sex offenders’ register.
