The Premier League title is "there for the taking" and Manchester City can seize the initiative if they start scoring more goals claims Raheem Sterling.
Pep Guardiola's side surrendered their crown last term as Liverpool romped to the title.
This term though no one has been able to get away from the pack.
Just six points separate table toppers Tottenham from City in ninth, although Guardiola's team have a game in hand.
Finding the net has been a surprising issue for City this term and has affected their points total.
But Sterling is confident that adding some consistency and being more productive in the final third could hand them the advantage.
“There are so many teams that are in [the title race],” he said ahead of Tuesday's clash with West Brom.
“Everyone is playing really well, and in some games teams are losing points - like the other day when we lost points and the other big teams lost points.
“It's open and there for the taking. We need to be more consistent, which I think we have been doing, in terms of not losing games.
"Now it's time to score a lot more goals and finish our chances.”
City copped plenty of criticism following Saturday's goalless Manchester derby.
They enjoyed the best of the chances but were unable to convert, with Sterling guilty himself.
He is City's top scorer with seven, but only three of those have come in the league.
The absence of Sergio Aguero has nullified some of their attacking threat while Gabriel Jesus has also faced time on the sidelines.
City have scored 17 times in 11 league games - less than the likes of Everton, West Ham and Crystal Palace.
At the same point last season Guardiola's team had scored 34 times.
