Raheem Sterling’s mum keeps her humble house on estate despite being bought £2.5m mansion by generous son

Raheem Sterling ’s mum still has her humble house on a tough estate – two years after she was handed a £2.5million mansion by her generous England footballer son.

The Sunday Mirror can reveal Nadine Clarke has kept hold of the housing association property in an area where families face a wait of up to 27 years for social housing.

Nadine, 44, is now said to divide her time between this property and her luxurious home 22 miles away in a leafy village.

Manchester City ace Raheem grew up on the estate and has previously told how he used to help Nadine clean hotel toilets.

There is no suggestion Nadine is breaking the law but it means families urgently waiting for social housing are being deprived when she has another privately-owned home.

Raheem, 23, bought her the 10-bed property near Slough, Berks, after landing his £44million move to City.

Nadine and Raheem are listed on the Land Registry as its owners.

But Nadine is also still on the electoral roll at her housing association home in the north-west London borough of Brent, near Wembley.

When the Sunday Mirror visited the property, a man said Nadine split her time between both places.

Describing himself as a relative of Sterling, he told us: “She is either here or in the place in Slough.”

Nadine declined to speak when approached at her mansion and a spokesman for Raheem also declined to comment.

The company that owns the Brent property, Catalyst Housing Ltd, also declined to talk to us.

More than 20,000 people are currently registered on a waiting list for a council house in Brent.

A source said: “You would think Nadine might have given the Brent place up since so many people are waiting for a place to live.”
