Raheem Sterling's Manchester City future in doubt and more transfer rumours

Raheem Sterling could leave Manchester City this summer after becoming frustrated at how he's been treated at the Etihad.

That is according to the Mirror who report Sterling is angry at the Blues' reported attempt to offer him to Tottenham as a makeweight to sign Harry Kane and the article suggests the 26-year-old is now assessing his options, which has thrown his future at City in doubt.

It's reported City were ready to open contract talks with Sterling, who currently earns £300,000 per week, over a new deal despite his concern over his lack of game time this season, but now, talks might come to a halt after City made enquiries to sign Kane.

Sterling's current deal expires in 2023 and it's been previously reported he is a candidate, alongside Riyad Mahrez, Aymeric Laporte and Bernardo Silva, to be sold by Pep Guardiola as the City boss looks to freshen up his side for the new campaign.

Regarding any potential arrivals this summer, The Athletic report City have added Chelsea's Reece James to their list of players they would like to sign, with sources indicating that Guardiola is a huge admirer of the dynamic English right-back.

James, 21, has enjoyed an outstanding season with Chelsea, making 47 appearances across all competitions and he delivered a faultless performance in the Champions League final against City, successfully marshalling Sterling out of the game in Porto.

It's reported Chelsea are not looking to sell James any time soon, though.
