Raheem Sterling reveals Man City target for next season

Raheem Sterling has already set his personal target for next season – to score more goals!

The Manchester City flyer netted a career-high 25 goals last season, after he scored 23 in the 2017-18 Centurions campaign, after bagging just 21 in his first TWO seasons at the club.

But Sterling refused to reveal how many he is targeting this season, even though he has a figure in mind.

In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Sterling was asked what he expected of himself for the coming season.

“Me personally? I’d say, it’d be score more goals,” was his reply.

“I think it’s something I’m always looking to do, score more goals and better my season before. You know, from a personal perspective, something I’d look into do is score more goals, not just say to score goals but to score goals that can help my team to win football matches.

“I’ve got a number in mind. You know it’s not something I say out loud. I just try to move on from last season.”

Sterling, who got in the groove by netting twice against West Ham in the pre-season opener in Nanjing last week, is likely to get an early chance to begin that hunt for more goals.

With strikers Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero not due back in training until the end of July, Sterling is earmarked for a central role in the Community Shield clash with Liverpool.
