Raheem Sterling makes 'greedy' Liverpool prediction as Man City turn attention elsewhere

Raheem Sterling admits there's little Man City can do to stop Liverpool's march to the Premier League title when football returns this week.

City are in action on Wednesday night when they play Arsenal at the Etihad, but know that Liverpool need just two victories to clinch the title.

Pep Guardiola's men are 25 points behind the Reds and are expecting to concede their title to Jurgen Klopp's side in the near future, having pipped Liverpool to top spot last season after a thrilling race.

Sterling, who departed Anfield for City in 2015, admits Liverpool have been impressive and says they will be desperate to win it again next season.

He told the BBC: "When you get that first Premier League trophy you want to win it the next year and the year after that - you want to be greedy.

"They've been great this year and we haven't been quite up to the level that we know we can be. We've got to keep pushing to try and finish second and we've got the FA Cup and Champions League.

"That's all the motivation you need - to try and finish the season with two more trophies.."

Meanwhile, Sterling has joined forces with Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson as well as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and other top stars to demand better action against inequality in football and other sports.
