Raheem Sterling, Dejan Kulusevski: Latest Arsenal transfer rumours ahead of January window

The January transfer window is fast approaching.

As a number of players are set to miss at least a few weeks of action at the beginning of 2022 because of the Africa Cup of Nations, Edu may need to dip into the market to add to Mikel Arteta's Arsenal squad.

Meanwhile, some players have uncertain futures at the Emirates Stadium.

The likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are coming to the end of their contracts at the club and may well benefit from a January move.

With that all in mind, let's take a look at some of the latest rumours surrounding the club.

What?

Arsenal have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Sterling.

The Manchester City forward is leaning towards making the switch to the Emirates Stadium instead of going to Camp Nou to join Barcelona.

Sterling has previously admitted that if his playing time at the Etihad Stadium doesn't improve, he'd be keen on a move away from the club.

As a result of his good relationship with Arteta, he's been subsequently linked with a move to north London.

Who?

Dejan Kulusevski and Nicolas Pepe

What?

Arsenal have suffered a huge blow in their attempts to sign Kulusevski from Juventus in exchange for Nicolas Pepe.

Arsenal ramped up their interest in the 21-year-old by making contact with the Serie A giants.

It is claimed that the north London side wanted to use Pepe in a straight swap, with the winger valued in the region of £30m - the same fee Juve are after for Kulusevski.

However, Juve are said to have declined the offer as they want cash to strengthen in other positions.

Who?

Renato Sanches

Where?

What?

AC Milan have overtaken Arsenal in the race to land midfielder Renato Sanches, who is set to leave Lille.

Sanches is ‘flattered’ by the interest of Milan and this is something that could lead to an acceleration of their pursuit.

The Gunners were said to be interested in Sanches in the summer but were discouraged by Lille's reported asking price of 35m euros (£29.6m) and thus, they opted for different options.
