Raheem Sterling breaks silence on Man City future amid Barcelona transfer links

Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has broken his silence regarding speculation on his future, following a number of transfer links.

Reports last month suggested City are looking to offload the former Liverpool man, with Arsenal touted for his services, and fresh speculation has put Barcelona in the running.

The 26-year-old witnessed a significant drop in form during the back end of the past season, scoring just once in his final 16 appearances for City.

However, Sterling has stated he is completely ignoring the speculation and is instead focusing upon England's upcoming campaign at the European Championship.

Will Manchester City offload Raheem Sterling this summer? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

“Do what they done before we had social media. Don’t check anything, don’t look at anything. That’s the most important thing," he replied when asked by TalkSport how he blocks out speculation.

Sterling's form declined towards the end of the season but he's looking to bounce back this summer and is excited ahead of the European Championships.

“I am feeling good. It is all about mentality. You can play a lot of games but if mentally you are not happy, if mentally you are down, okay the tournament could be physically demanding.

"But if you are happy and raring to go, that is the most important thing. It is where your head is at and mind space. And right now my mindset is smile and be happy.”

England begin their Euro 2020 campaign on Sunday against Croatia, followed by group stage matches against Scotland and the Czech Republic.

Having reached the semi-final stage at the World Cup in 2018, England are expected to venture deep into the competition and potentially go all the way.
