Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford's form will give Gareth Southgate the shivers ahead of Euros

There's little doubt England have the best set of strikers among any team competing at the delayed 2020 Euros next month.

But surely Gareth Southgate has to make space for Manchester United teenager Mason Greenwood?

Greenwood's kept his nose clean and learned his lesson since breaking Covid rules and jeopardising England's secure bio-bubble with Phil Foden in Iceland last September.

He's not played for England since. But eight goals in his last 13 games for United make him a must-pick in my view – especially as a threat from the bench.

Captain Harry Kane might want to leave Tottenham but the goals keep coming – and that's more than you can say about Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford.

A quick glance at their stats might give Gareth Southgate the shivers when he runs through his final picks on Sunday.

I've included both - just like Southgate will - but neither front-man is in prolific form for their respective Manchester clubs, City and United, this year.

For Sterling, eight goals in 29 games in 2021 is hardly anything to get excited about in a City team that's crushed all-comers on the way to the title.

Likewise, Rashford's seven in 32 matches won't be terrifying the tournament favourites.

Patrick Bamford and Ollie Watkins are both being touted for a call-up.

But I'm sticking with Dominic Calvert-Lewin because his 25 goals so far this season means he deserves a place.

Injury doubts surrounding Old Trafford defender Harry Maguire and Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson need to be closely monitored.

But if they make it I've included cover in the form of Kyle Walker and Reece James who could both play right of a three while Leeds star Kalvin Phillips earns his place as back-up for Henderson.

The increase in squad size from 23 to 26 gives the England boss enough slack to have a couple of wild-card picks.

Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham and re-born Jesse Lingard get my vote – with Arsenal's Bukayo Saka sneaking in too.

My Full 26-man Squad:

Jordan Pickford, Dean Henderson, Nick Pope

Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James, Harry Maguire, John Stones, Tyrone Mings, Luke Shaw, Ben Chilwell, Bukayo Saka

Jordan Henderson, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling, Jadon Sancho, Mason Mount, Jack Grealish, Jesse Lingard

Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Mason Greenwood.
