Vaclav Cerny was left visibly furious after being substituted midway through the second half with Rangers still deadlocked at 1-1 with Celtic in the final Old Firm clash of the Scottish Premiership season.
The Czech international – so often one of Rangers’ key attacking outlets – was replaced by Hamza Igamane on 66 minutes, and it’s fair to say he wasn’t pleased with the decision from manager Barry Ferguson.
Cerny trudged off slowly, his expression thunderous, before sitting among the substitutes and repeatedly slamming his elbow into the Ibrox dugout in frustration – a reaction that did not go unnoticed.
(Image: Sky Sports) Co-commentator Chris Sutton said on Sky Sports: "Cerny is clearly frustrated. He's a player I think most Rangers fans would want to keep next season."
Lead commentator Ian Crocker added: "It's safe to say, he's very unhappy."
While Rangers hero Scott Arfield commented: "He's not happy coming off. I'm surprised at that as well, he's possessed a real threat going forward. It's a big call."
Cerny’s visible anger may prompt questions about his relationship with Ferguson, who hasn’t been afraid to make bold in-game calls since taking interim charge in February.
