Raging Simon Jordan brands Ryan Fraser a 'turd' during shock radio attack on Newcastle United star

Fizzing Simon Jordan has let rip at Ryan Fraser over the Scotland international's explanation for refusing to play for Bournemouth after lockdown.

The 26-year-old joined Newcastle on a five-year contract on Wednesday and lifted the lid on the reason he said no to a return to Eddie Howe's side when the Premier League got back underway in June.

Fraser's decision irked the Cherries faithful and the acrimony intensified after Bournemouth were subsequently relegated.

The former Aberdeen man insisted he did was right for him but that didn't wash with the Jordan and the flamboyant former Crystal Palace chief has gone off the deep end.

Speaking on the Jim White show on talkSPORT, he said: “I don’t quite understand what Ryan Fraser’s point is by giving this information out.

“To me, he’s saying to Bournemouth: ‘I could have helped you, but I couldn’t be bothered to do so’. You’d have him with you in the trenches…

“The idea that he couldn’t have helped Bournemouth or Bournemouth couldn’t have given him the comfort to ensure that if he injured himself helping the club that gave him a career for seven years that it wouldn’t impact his next move…

“There’s something about that sentiment that wraps up some of the parts of the football industry that are quite unpalatable.

“Because whist you are right and you have to look after yourself because there are times when no one is going to look after you, there is a degree of something called integrity, responsibility and respect. You respected that club when you were getting what you wanted from it, and now you don’t when it doesn’t suit you.

“I’m not suggesting you should have loyalty beyond the realms of your contract but in exceptional times, which we’re in now, you need exceptional people.

“And if I’m Newcastle, I’m looking at this wretched individual thinking: ‘When it came to adversity you didn’t want to stand up’.

“I love Stevie Bruce, he’s a big mate of mine, he was a manager of mine at Palace and I think he’s a fantastic manager, I’m a great supporter of his at Newcastle.

“But I look at this guy’s character and I think: ‘You’re a turd’.

“Why would I want someone like you who, when it comes to adversity or a situation when I’m going to really need you to stand up, are you going to be the same as you were over there (at Bournemouth)?

“I think there’s something fundamentally quite repugnant about it.

“Shut your mouth and don’t you dare come out and start talking out how you could have done something to help somebody, but you didn’t, and how it would have been better for them if you had have done it and you’re sad because it could have been so much easier for your rite of passage to do precisely what you want, but you didn’t.

“That’s OUTRAGEOUS!

“It’s outrageous to sit there, almost tritely, saying to Bournemouth fans: ‘I could have helped you and it would have been better for ME if you hadn’t got relegated’.

“No, it would have been better for THE CLUB if they hadn’t got relegated, you narcissistic swine!”
