Raging little Scots girl blasts 'idiot' litter louts for killing the animals

A fuming Scots youngster has issued an emotional plea to “idiot” litter louts after finding mountains of rubbish on her daily walks.

Little Caylie McKenzie was moved to tears after discovering someone had dumped a quilt in the burn near her Kilsyth home on Wednesday.

The five-year-old decided to take a stand by making a video to show the latest damage and urged “the world” to be kinder to animals.

The adorable youngster warned how critters could be “seriously damaged” by people dropping their rubbish and worries that animal homes are being destroyed.

She said: “Look what the idiots have done. They’re making everything so badly damaged. “Every animal could get killed by this idiot thing. When idiots do this, they can get seriously damaged and seriously in trouble.

“They can also get the animals really in trouble because they can get damaged with all this. “Their heads get stuck in things and also their heads in plastic and they can die. So that’s why I’m trying to keep my little animals safe. I want idiots to stop.

“I’m showing this to the whole world so please stop idiots. Everyone keeps destroying their homes, they won’t have anywhere to live.

“And that’s why I like keeping animals safe so I want yous to be really kind to animals.”

Proud mum Cheryl Kennedy told how the duo regularly pick up discarded rubbish on their walks but that little Caylie was left distraught after discovering the river litter.

The mum-of-four said: “We live in Kilsyth so we’ve got quite a lot of beautiful scenery around so we usually go for a wee walk everyday.

“We were just passing by this little bit of the burn and Caylie had seen there was a quilt thrown with bottles and things. She actually started crying.

“She was having a wee cry and saying that it was so sad for all the little animals and that they were going to die.

“She said ‘maybe I should make a video and tell all these idiots that they’ve not to do this’ and I said it was a great idea.”

The proud mum added: “She’s some girl. She’s a great girl and she’s always talking away to people.

“We used to go to a wee cafe every Tuesday before lockdown and there’s a lot of elderly people that go.

“If she sees any of them sitting on their own, she invites them over to our table to have lunch with us.

“If she bumps into people when we’re out walking, she usually takes the dog lead off them and goes and walks them. She’s always been very caring and making people smile.”

Caylie, whose current favourite animals are crocodiles and elephants, now hopes everyone will see her message and do their bit to help the environment.
