A popular Edinburgh restaurant has hit back at a selfish customer who dumped packaging and takeaway boxes from the venue onto the streets of South Queensferry.
Canadian diner and takeaway Down the Hatch - who have branches in both the city centre and South Queensferry - shared images of litter strewn about a walkway in the coastal town, with a takeaway bag from the restaurant labelled 'Megan'.
DTH shared pictures on their Instagram, writing:
"Hi Megan, this is a picture of your DTH litter dumped on society road in our picturesque town of South Queensferry.
"How you feel it’s ok to dispose of your waste like this is beyond us -so we are letting our 42000 followers know that it will not be tolerated and we are more than happy to do this again.
"DON’T BE A MEGAN!"
Over 1,100 people have liked the post in just over half an hour since it was shared, with many commending the restaurant for holding its customers accountable.

"Definitely don't be a Megan", one wrote.
"So lazy", another added.
While one user said "Good on you for calling people out. We all need to take our rubbish home!"
Others have added that a seagull at the coastal town may have pulled the rubbish from a bin nearby - although the message still stands, if you order from a local restaurant, make sure you dispose of your rubbish properly.
Recently, Edinburgh Live reported on how the increase in traffic to popular coastal towns and beauty spots around the Lothians had left locals concerned over overflowing bins left by visitors.
