Raging Edinburgh resident leaves note on badly parked car for stopping bins being collected

A raging resident shamed a bad parker for blocking in a communal bin by slapping a note on their windscreen.

The mystery Edinburgh letter writer struck last night, October 26, after the driver’s antics prevented the rubbish from getting taken away from tenements.

The hand-scrawled message, signed by ‘a neighbour’, said the Police Scotland and the local council had been informed.

It read: “Today is bucket day. By parking here the bucket man could not empty the bin. Thanks for that.

The note informed the driver the police and council have been contacted (Handout)

“I have sent a photo of your mis-parking to the council and the police.”

Another neighbour in Wheatfield Place, Dalry, Stuart Reid, snapped the note on his mobile phone and backed its writer.

Stuart, 33, said: “I Thought this is quite funny for the dummy that parks in front of a communal bin.

"I took it last night when I was on my way home when I was informed about it.

“We live there as it's free parking which is an advantage for a lot of people. But it doesn't help as there are a lot of people who don't know how to park or are selfish.

“Or you have the likes of contractors from the likes of the industrial park even though they have car parks.”

Fellow neighbours have now backed the note writer after Stuart posted the photos on Facebook.

One wrote: “It’s my favourite/nearest bin as well.

"Thanks for highlighting the problem.”
