Raghuvanshi, Tamore hit tons for Mumbai

MUMBAI: 'Keeper-bat Hardik Tamore (152 not out, 230b, 15x4, 2x6) and opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi (112, 199b, 12x4, 2x6), who was a part of the India Under-19 World Cup winning team a couple of months back in the West Indies, slammed tons to help Mumbai finish at a commanding 303 for three on the opening day of their Col CK Nayudu Trophy (for Under-25) at Pondicherry on Tuesday.

After Mumbai elected to bat, opener Musheer Khan (14) and Armaan Jaffer (3) missed out, but Tamore, who was a part of the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team earlier this season but couldn't get a game, and Raghuvanshi then added 230 for the second wicket in 355 balls during their mammoth partnership.

"I requested our coach (Rajesh Pawar) and the Mumbai selectors to allow me to bat at No 3, as I've opened or batted at No 3 since childhood. I'm grateful to them that they agreed to my request," Tamore told TOI.

Brief scores: Mumbai 303-3 (Hardik Tamore 152 not out, Angkrish Raghuvanshi 112) vs Tamil Nadu
