Rafael van der Vaart mocks Arsenal as he celebrates birthday with Tottenham fans

Former Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart has celebrated his birthday by mocking Arsenal.

As the midfielder turned 36, he tweeted one of his favourite goals of a career which spanned almost two decades with spells at Ajax, Real Madrid, Hamburg among others and over 100 caps for the Dutch national team.

Coming in the Champions League in 2006, Van der Vaart - playing for Hamburg - beat Jens Lehmann from distance after just four minutes only for Robin van Persie, Emmanuel Eboue and Julio Baptista to score in the second half to seal a 3-1 win for Arsenal.

Van der Vaart spent two seasons with Tottenham, scoring 24 goals including a number against Arsenal in north London derbies.

Tottenham are preparing to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League this week, while Arsenal have a less glamourous Europa League tie against BATE Borisov on Thursday - a face Van der Vaart was keen to point out.

Van der Vaart is still scoring winners for Spurs then.
