Rafael Santos Borre transfer latest as Rangers and Celtic 'target' makes next club decision

Frankfurt have leaped to the front of the queue to sign Rafael Santos Borre.

Rangers and Celtic have both been heavily linked with the Colombian frontman but it now looks like he might be on his way to Germany.

Santos Borre has experience in Europe having previously played for Atletico Madrid and Villarreal before returning to South America with River Plate.

He impressed in his four years in Argentina and a host of European clubs now want to bring him back to the continent.

Both sides of the Old Firm were believed to want the Colombian striker, who is currently at the Copa America alongside Alfredo Morelos.

But it’s unlikely that either Steven Gerrard or Ange Postecoglou will get him with reports saying he has agreed to sign for Eintracht Frankfurt.

It is now believed the 25-year-old has agreed to join them and will sign a four-year deal at the Bundesliga outfit.

A final decision on his move will be made in the coming days but it looks like he will sign for the German side on a free transfer.

Celtic have added Liam Shaw to their squad this summer after he agreed a pre-contract while Rangers have signed Nnamdi Ofoborh and Fashion Sakala.
