Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has sent a message to Steven Gerrard about the next step in his managerial career.
Gerrard recently secured his first trophy as a manager with the Scottish Premiership title at Rangers, ending Celtic’s nine-year hold on the title.
The success from the former Reds skipper across the border has led to increased speculation that he could one day take charge at Liverpool in the future.
Gerrard has often praised Benitez for helping him become the manager he is today, as well as what he did for his playing career.
Benitez has sent his congratulations to his former captain, as well as instructions of what needs to happen next in Gerrard’s career.
"Firstly, congratulations Steve! He has done really well this season," Benitez told the Daily Mail. "He is on the right path to be a good manager.
"Now he has to be consistent, to deliver in the future and from what I can hear from him, his interviews and comments he is doing well.
"He will have difficult times and good times. The way that he reacts will be the key to his future success."
