Rafa Benitez's Newcastle return to be screened live as BT Sport announce latest picks

The St James' Park return of Rafa Benitez will be screened live on BT Sport.

The Magpies are scheduled to face Rafa Benitez's side at St James' Park on Tuesday, February 8, with the game now taking place live on BT Sport at 7:45pm.

This fixture is part of an initial batch of matches chosen by BT.

Leicester City's trip to Liverpool and Manchester City's game against Brentford has also been selected as BT get set to broadcast all nine midweek matches, with Chelsea and Aston Villa the only two teams not to feature due to the Blues' representation at the Club World Cup.

Nevertheless, Newcastle are set be broadcast live on TV in five of their next eight league games, including the trip to Liverpool on Thursday evening as they run into a busy festive period.

Eddie Howe's side host Manchester City this weekend, before also taking on Manchester United on Monday, December 27, with both matches live on Sky Sports.

They will also face Everton on December 30 in the reverse fixture, while games against Southampton, Watford and Leeds United are scheduled ahead of another top-flight meeting with the Toffees.

In between that run, the Magpies welcome Cambridge United to St James' Park in the Emirates FA Cup.

Newcastle were victorious in this fixture last season as Callum Wilson netted a second-half brace to earn a 2-1 win, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring for the visitors.

The nine fixtures set to be on BT Sport during the midweek of February 8 to February 10 are as follows:

Tuesday, February 8 - West Ham United vs Watford (19:45)

Tuesday, February 8 - Newcastle United vs Everton (19:45)

Tuesday, February 8 - Burnley vs Manchester United (20:00)

Wednesday, February 9 - Norwich City vs Crystal Palace (19:45)

Wednesday, February 9 - Tottenham Hotspur vs Southampton (19:45)

Wednesday, February 9 - Manchester City vs Brentford (19:45)

Wednesday, February 9 - Aston Villa vs Leeds United (20:00)

Thursday, February 10 - Liverpool vs Leicester City (19:45)

Thursday, February 10 - Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Arsenal (19:45)
