Rafa Benitez reveals Dominic Calvert-Lewin return plan and four more Everton injury updates

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has played in just three Premier League games this season but Everton boss Rafa Benitez says his striker is nearing a return to action.

Everton are without a win since September and are in desperate need of Calvert-Lewin's return as they have found it difficult to replace the 16 league goals he scored last season.

The Spaniard highlighted how Calvert-Lewin is feeling strong - but is still at least a couple of weeks away as caution is required.

Benitez also gave an update on some of the other injured Everton players ahead of their match with Arsenal on Monday night.

"[DCL] is doing well, I was talking with the physio today and with the fitness coach the other day," said Benitez in his pre-match press conference.

"He is getting better but he is still a couple of weeks minimum.

"We have to be very careful with him because he has had two injuries so we need to be sure he is getting stronger but now is the time to progress.

"He is doing really well and he is quite happy but we have to be careful."

Everton have been without a number of players for some weeks now - but the injury list looks as though it is easing with Yerry Mina taking part in some of the Blues' training session.

"Yerry Mina has done part of the training session today so he is getting closer. We will see how he reacts in the next couple of days to see if he is available or not," added Benitez.

"[Salomon] Rondon, we are assessing him, we are waiting. He is feeling better but we need to wait for the scan to see how he is doing.

" Andre Gomes has been training. We are missing just Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Tom Davies."
