Rafa Benitez says he is relaxed about the attention Ayoze Perez is courting following his excellent late season form.
The forward has bagged 12 goals in all competitions this season and has been touted for a move to Serie A this week with both Inter Milan and Napoli interested in his services.
A £25million fee has been reported in Italy, but Benitez - who has helped take Perez on to a higher level in terms of performance during his three year stay on Tyneside - is not concerned about gossip on his future.
Benitez said: "It was the same last year.
"He has done well. The people around him have helped him do well.
"When you do well at your level, the teams around you are interested in these players.
"You cannot talk now because it is too early.
"Ayo has done well so it is normal people will talk about him."
Benitez was keen to stress that Newcastle still have one game left against a Fulham side that have won three of their last four games.
He said: "The teams at the top of the table are quite strong.
"The teams at the bottom are also doing well."
