Rafa Benitez names three players in contention to replace Miguel Almiron for Brighton game

Rafa Benitez admits that "something" has to change in his Newcastle United line-up against Brighton tonight.

The Toon boss is without Jamaal Lascelles at the back due to a stomach illness for his skipper, but he has to fill a gaping void left by hamstring victim Miguel Almiron.

Jonjo Shelvey is one player back in contention but Benitez admits that Kenedy, Christian Atsu and Yoshinori Muto are also pushing hard and could feature.

When asked about his selection options due to Almiron's absence, Benitez told Chronicle Live: "We have to change something.

"Kenedy, Astu and Muto maybe competing for this position.

"The others?

"We will have to wait and see.

"We have to decide whether we can give something to somebody who was training well without losing the balance we have had, the balance that allowed us to compete and win.

"If we can give a chance to somebody else we will try to do it."
