Rafa Benitez conceded his future as Everton manager was 'not in my hands' after defeat to Norwich City on Saturday.
The admission came less than 24 hours after he confirmed 'positive' talks held with Farhad Moshiri in Liverpool.
Everton slumped to within six points of the relegation zone after losing 2-1 at Norwich as the Spaniard won just one of his final 13 matches in charge.
Benitez, in what were his final words as Everton manager, said: "I am a professional," said Benitez.

"I have enough experience and I came here to fix issues that, maybe, are coming from five years ago.
"I have to make sure I analyse these kinds of mistakes we are making and avoid that for the future.
"Other things are not in my hands. I have to do my job."
